Privacy Policy

Meshwar Driver · Last updated: 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Meshwar driver application ("the App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information

3. Sharing

To complete a trip we share the necessary details with the matched rider (such as your first name and vehicle information). We may share information with service providers who help us operate the App (for example SMS, maps, and hosting), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Trip sharing by the rider. During a trip, the rider can create a live share link and send it to people they choose. Anyone holding the link — no Meshwar account is needed — can see, in a browser and only while that trip is in progress: your first name, profile photo, and rating, your vehicle's colour, make, model and plate number, and your live location and heading along the route, together with the trip's status and estimated arrival. Your phone number, the trip's start PIN, and the fare are never shown. The link stops working when the trip ends — and after at most 12 hours in any case — the rider can revoke it, and we may end a share link at any time. A rider can also share a trip with family members they have added by mutual consent in their app. Those members see the same details, inside their own Meshwar app and for that trip only; for riders who have turned on auto-share for a member, this happens automatically when you accept the trip. Family sharing ends when the trip ends.

Subscription payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number; if you choose to save a card, we keep only a secure token and limited details (such as the card brand and last four digits) to display and reuse it. Your card details are handled by the payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy.

4. Location data

While you are online, location is collected continuously so we can send you nearby trips and guide navigation. When you go offline, this collection stops. Route points recorded during a trip (GPS breadcrumbs) are kept with the trip and used for fare integrity and support. If the rider shares the trip live — with a share link or with their family members (see section 3) — your live location during that trip is also visible to the rider's chosen recipients until the sharing stops. You can manage location permission in your device settings, but it is required to receive trips.

5. Usage, crash and performance data

To keep the App reliable and improve it, we use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring) to collect usage events (such as the screens you visit and key actions like going online, receiving offers and completing trips, and subscription purchases — the plan and amount, never card details), crash and error reports, performance measurements (such as app start-up time and network latency), basic device information (model, operating system version, app version and language), app-instance identifiers, and your account identifier together with your account role and country. These reports do not include your chat messages or your precise trip locations. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own safeguards and may store it on servers outside your country.

You can turn this sharing off at any time from the App's settings ("Share usage & crash data"); the App works fully without it.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet verification and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and comply with the law. When you delete your driver account, we remove your driver documents and vehicles, anonymize your personal details (such as your name, phone number, email, and photo), and end your sessions; records we are legally required to keep — including subscription and payment history — are retained in anonymized form.

7. Your choices

You can update your profile, manage location permission, go offline, turn usage & crash data sharing on or off, and request deletion of your account through the App's settings or Help & Support. Some verification records may be retained where required by law.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.

9. Contact

For privacy questions, contact us through Help & Support in the App.
