This Privacy Policy explains what information the Meshwar rider application ("the App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: your mobile phone number and, optionally, your name, a profile picture, and an email address. You can edit your name and picture and link an email from your profile; linking an email and changing your phone number require a one-time verification code.
- Location: your device location while you use the App, to set your pickup, match you with drivers, and show the trip in real time.
- Trip information: pickup and destination, fares, and your trip history.
- Ratings and support: ratings you give and messages you send to support.
- In-trip messages: messages exchanged with your driver in the App's trip chat are recorded on the trip and may be reviewed by our team to handle complaints and keep the service safe.
- Device and usage data: basic technical information needed to operate and secure the App.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and verify it by OTP.
- To verify a linked email and to confirm a phone-number change by sending a one-time code.
- To match you with nearby drivers and complete your trips.
- To calculate and display fares.
- To provide customer support and handle account recovery.
- To keep the service safe and prevent fraud and abuse.
3. Sharing
To complete a trip we share the necessary details (such as pickup location and your first name) with the matched driver. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the App (for example SMS and hosting), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Where card or wallet payment is offered, it is processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number; if you choose to save a card, we keep only a secure token and limited details (such as the card brand and last four digits) to display and reuse it. Your card details are handled by the payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy.
4. Location data
Location is collected only while you are using the App for booking and tracking. You can turn location permission on or off in your device settings; some features will not work without it.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal details (such as your name, phone number, email, and photo) and end your sessions; records we are legally required to keep are retained in anonymized form.
6. Your choices
You can update your profile, manage location permission, and request deletion of your account at any time through the App's settings or Help & Support.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
