Privacy Policy

Meshwar Rider · Last updated: 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Meshwar rider application ("the App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information

3. Sharing

To complete a trip we share the necessary details (such as pickup location and your first name) with the matched driver. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the App (for example SMS, hosting, and mapping/routing services such as Google, which we use to calculate routes, live traffic estimates, and fares), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Trip sharing (your choice). During a trip you can create a live share link and send it to people you choose. Anyone holding the link — no Meshwar account is needed — can see, in a browser and only while the trip is in progress: the driver's live location and heading, the route, the pickup and drop-off addresses, the trip status and estimated arrival, your first name, and the driver's first name, profile photo, vehicle colour, make, model and plate number, and rating. Phone numbers, the trip's start PIN, and the fare are never shown. The link stops working when the trip ends, and after at most 12 hours in any case; you can revoke it at any time from the App, and we may end a share link at any time.

Family sharing (your choice). You can also share a trip with family members you have added in the App. A family member follows the trip in their own Meshwar app and sees the same details listed above, and nothing more — never phone numbers, the trip's start PIN, or the fare. Family links are made by mutual consent: you invite a person by the phone number you enter, they are shown your first name so they know who is inviting them, and nothing is shared until they accept. If the number you invite does not belong to a Meshwar account yet, we keep that phone number with the pending invite — until the invite is accepted, declined, or withdrawn by you — so it can be offered if that number registers later. If you turn on auto-share for a member (it is off by default), each of your trips is shared with that member automatically when a driver accepts it, and they receive a notification each time; you can turn this off at any time. You can stop a member's view of a trip while it is in progress, and removing a family member — which either side can do at any time — immediately ends any live sharing between you.

Where card or wallet payment is offered, it is processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number; if you choose to save a card, we keep only a secure token and limited details (such as the card brand and last four digits) to display and reuse it. Your card details are handled by the payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy.

4. Location data

Location is collected only while you are using the App for booking and tracking. During a trip, the route driven is recorded (GPS points) and kept with the trip; we use it for fare integrity — checking the final fare against the route actually driven — and to help support resolve trip issues. If you create a live share link for a trip, or share it with family members (see section 3), the trip's live progress — including the driver's live location on the route — is also visible to the recipients you choose until the trip ends, the link expires, or you revoke the share. You can turn location permission on or off in your device settings; some features will not work without it.

5. Usage, crash and performance data

To keep the App reliable and improve it, we use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring) to collect usage events (such as the screens you visit and key actions like requesting a ride), crash and error reports, performance measurements (such as app start-up time and network latency), basic device information (model, operating system version, app version and language), app-instance identifiers, and your account identifier together with your account role and country. These reports do not include your chat messages, your precise trip locations, or any payment card details. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own safeguards and may store it on servers outside your country.

You can turn this sharing off at any time from the App's settings ("Share usage & crash data"); the App works fully without it.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal details (such as your name, phone number, email, and photo) and end your sessions; records we are legally required to keep are retained in anonymized form.

7. Your choices

You can update your profile, manage location permission, turn usage & crash data sharing on or off, and request deletion of your account at any time through the App's settings or Help & Support.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
