Terms & Conditions
Meshwar Rider · Last updated: 13 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Meshwar rider application ("the App"). By creating an account and using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Your account
You sign in with your mobile phone number and a one-time verification code (OTP). You are responsible for keeping access to your phone number secure and for all activity carried out through your account. One account is intended for one person; you must be legally able to enter into a contract to use the service.
You can also sign in — or create your account — with Google or Apple. A phone number verified by a one-time code is still required for every account: the Google or Apple sign-in is a convenience linked to your account, and your phone number remains its primary credential. You can link or unlink these sign-in methods from your profile at any time.
You can edit your display name and profile picture, and optionally link an email address, from your profile. Once a linked email is verified, you can change your registered phone number from within the App by confirming a one-time code sent to the new number; the new number must not already be in use.
2. Booking a ride or delivery
You can request a service by setting a pickup and destination and choosing a vehicle type (for example Economy, Comfort, or Motorbike) or a Package delivery option. We match you with a nearby driver of that type and show you the fare up front before you confirm. Once matched, you can track your driver's location and arrival in real time.
If you use a Package or delivery option, you are responsible for the contents you send: they must be lawful, accurately described, safely packaged, and not include prohibited, dangerous, or restricted items. You are responsible for the recipient being available to receive the item. Meshwar connects you with an independent driver and is not a courier or warehouse; the driver may decline or return items that appear unsafe or unlawful.
3. Fares and payment
Fares are shown up front. Your fare is calculated from a real driving route to your destination, using live traffic conditions at the time you book, and it is itemized in the App: a base fare, a per-kilometre rate, a per-minute rate, and a minimum fare, plus a busy-time increase when one applies (see below). Payment is made in cash directly to the driver at the end of the trip. Card payment for trips is not offered today; if we add another method it will be shown and selected in the App. Any wallet credit you hold, or a promo code you apply, reduces what you pay in cash (see section 10). If you have an unsettled cancellation fee, it is added to the fare as its own line (see section 4). You agree to pay the fare for trips you take.
The price we show you is the price you pay. When you book, the fare shown in the App is held for a short period. If you book within that period, that is what you are charged, even if prices in your area change in the meantime. If the price has expired by the time you book, the App shows you the current fare before you confirm. For the trip you booked, we never charge you more than the fare you accepted; the final fare differs only when the trip itself does, as described below.
If your trip changes, the fare follows it — at the same rates. The quote covers the trip you booked. If the ride you actually take runs materially longer than the routed trip — more than about 20% over, for example after a change of destination or a detour you ask for — the final fare is recalculated from the actual distance and time at the same rates you accepted, and that recalculated fare is never less than the quote. If your ride ends materially short of your destination, you are charged the honest, lower fare for the distance actually travelled instead of the full quote. To protect you from GPS errors and abuse, the distance we bill may be capped at a multiple of the routed distance, and trips with large differences are reviewed by our team. The App records the route driven during each trip (GPS points); fare recalculations, caps, and reviews are based on that record (see our Privacy Policy).
Cash change goes to your wallet. If you pay more cash than the final fare — for example when exact change is not available — the difference is credited to your in-app wallet and is applied automatically as a discount on your next trips (see section 10).
Higher fares at busy times. When many riders in your area need a car and few drivers are available, fares there may be higher than usual for as long as that lasts. When this applies, the App shows it as a separate line on your fare — before you book, not after — so you can see exactly how much of the price it accounts for and decide whether to travel, wait, or start from somewhere else. There is a limit on how much fares can rise this way, and the increase goes to your driver.
4. Cancellations
You may cancel free of charge while we are still finding you a driver. Once a driver has accepted your request — including after they have arrived at the pickup point — cancelling may cost a cancellation fee. The App shows you the amount before you confirm the cancellation, so you always choose knowing the cost. Once a trip has started it can no longer be cancelled in the App.
The fee goes to your driver, not to us. The whole of a cancellation fee is paid to the driver who was already on their way to you, as compensation for the trip they turned down to take yours. Meshwar keeps none of it.
How a cancellation fee is settled. It is never charged to a card. The amount is recorded against your account and added to the fare of your next trip, shown there as its own line, and you pay it in cash together with that fare. Until it is settled it stays on your account. Above a limit shown in the App, an unsettled amount prevents you from booking a new trip until it is cleared. If you believe a fee was charged in error, contact us through Help & Support — we can review and remove it.
You are never charged a cancellation fee when your driver cancels. If that happens we automatically search for another driver for you, and you can report the cancellation from the trip's details.
Every cancellation is recorded, including which side cancelled and the reason selected. Repeated or late cancellations may lead to a review of your account and can affect your ability to use the service.
5. Conduct, ratings, and safety
You agree to treat drivers with respect, to wait at the agreed pickup point, and not to damage the vehicle. After each trip you may rate your driver and leave a comment. We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service or other users.
Emergency help. During a trip you can raise an SOS from the App. This opens a support conversation that is marked urgent and linked to your trip, so our team can see the trip and reach you quickly. SOS is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first — the App is not a substitute for the police, an ambulance, or the fire service.
Sharing your trip. During a trip you can create a live share link from the App and send it to anyone you choose. Anyone who opens the link can follow the trip in a browser — no Meshwar account needed — for as long as the trip lasts: the driver's live location and heading, the route, the pickup and drop-off addresses, the trip status and estimated arrival, your first name, and your driver's first name, profile photo, vehicle colour, make, model and plate number, and rating. Phone numbers, the trip's start PIN, and the fare are never shown. You are responsible for choosing who you share the link with. The link stops working when the trip ends — and after at most 12 hours in any case — you can revoke it at any time from the App, and Meshwar may end a share link at any time.
Sharing with your family members. You can also share a trip from inside the App with family members you have added. A family member follows the trip live in their own Meshwar app and sees exactly what a share-link viewer sees, as listed above — never phone numbers, the trip's start PIN, or the fare. Family links are mutual: you invite a person by phone number, they must hold a Meshwar rider account and accept your invite in their own app before any sharing is possible, and either of you can remove the link at any time. You can have up to 5 family members. For each member you can optionally turn on auto-share — it is off unless you enable it — so that every trip you take is shared with that member automatically as soon as a driver accepts it; enabling it is your own choice, and you can turn it off, or stop a member's view of a trip, at any time. Sharing ends when the trip ends, and removing a family member immediately ends any live sharing between you. If you invite a number that is not yet on Meshwar, the invite is kept and offered to that person if they register with that number later, and you can send them an invite message that includes your referral code (see section 10). You are responsible for choosing your family members, just as you are for choosing who receives a share link.
Badges and celebrations. The App may award you badges for milestones such as your first trip or a number of trips completed. Badges are recognition only: they carry no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and a badge awarded during a trip is withdrawn if that trip does not complete. We may add, change, or retire badges at any time.
6. Location
The App uses your device location to set your pickup, match you with nearby drivers, and let you follow the trip. You can manage location permission from your device settings; some features will not work without it.
7. Account recovery
If you lose access to your registered phone number, you can recover your account by verifying your identity with your national ID. We review recovery requests to protect against fraud.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use the App for any unlawful purpose, attempt to disrupt the service, or use it to harass, endanger, or defraud anyone.
9. Service availability and liability
The service is provided on an "as available" basis and may be interrupted or changed. To the extent permitted by law, Meshwar is not liable for the conduct of independent drivers or for indirect or incidental losses.
10. Referrals, promo codes, and credits
If you share your referral code, you and the rider you invite may each receive a promotional credit when they complete their first trip. Separately, we may offer promo codes that reduce a trip's fare, subject to their own eligibility, per-user, and total-use limits. A single trip may use wallet credit or a promo code, but not both.
Your in-app wallet is a closed-loop balance: there is no way to add money to it, by design. Credit can reach your wallet only from referral rewards, refunds we issue, change from cash payments (see section 3), and adjustments made by our support team — every support adjustment carries a stated reason.
All wallet credit and promo codes are closed-loop credit: they can be used only as a discount toward your trips. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred, withdrawn, or refunded. Unused credit may expire after a period shown in the App, and we may change or end these programmes at any time. We may void rewards or discounts obtained through abuse, fraud, or self-referral.
11. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Account > Delete account. To protect you, deletion requires a verification code sent to your phone plus a typed confirmation.
Deletion removes your personal data for the app you delete from — your trips, saved places, and profile details — and ends your sessions. If your number is also registered on the other Meshwar app, only the account for the app you are using is removed. Some records, such as completed-trip and payment history, may be retained in anonymized form where required by law or to resolve disputes.
You cannot delete your account while a trip is in progress, or while there is still money to settle in either direction:
- an outstanding cancellation fee — settle it by taking a trip, where it is added to that fare (see section 4), or contact Help & Support; and
- unspent wallet credit — that credit can only be used as a discount on your own trips and has no cash value, so we ask you to use it before you go rather than let it disappear. If you would rather give it up than keep the account open, contact Help & Support and we can clear the balance so the deletion can go ahead.
The App tells you which of these apply before you begin, so you are never left to work it out from a refused attempt.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version; continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Contact
For questions about these Terms, contact us through Help & Support in the App.
